Flax is a high quality natural fibre that is most appreciated in the summer months due to its lightness and ability to absorb moisture. However, it should be mentioned that it also has its drawbacks, such as its high susceptibility to wrinkling. After washing, it is advisable to iron linen with a slightly damp iron set to a lower temperature, due to the fact that linen needs more time to soften and tame its shrinkage, which is approximately 4-7%. Furthermore, care must be taken when washing to prevent colour loss, as linen easily loses its colour if handled carelessly. Interestingly, linen is one of the few materials that can tolerate slight wrinkling.

Care of linen:

When washing linen, it is advisable to use a gentle detergent and to keep the washing temperature to a maximum of 40°C and the wringing speed low, as linen fibre tends to break. It is ideal to wash linen scarves separately to avoid the linen fibre absorbing fine hairs from other fabrics, which can result in a loss of its natural lustre and colour.
